All about Zakynthos

The monk seal is one of the most endangered mammals on the planet. Today most of the world's population is in the Greek seas. In the Ionian Islands it is more common in the south and reproduces in Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Arkoudi. The Mediterranean Seal used the beaches mainly for rest and upbringing of its little ones, but the anthropogenic activities led them to the coastal caves.
